It’s been a little while since we last
met, and I have hopes of rekindling that spark we once shared…
I caught your attention with that
one, didn’t I? It was a cheap shot, I know. But how else am I going to gain
reader attention? In truth, I had plans of creative productivity for 2014 that
were smashed with medical…irritations. But that may be a story for a different
time and place.
But I won’t linger on the “if only”
and “it could have been” reflections. I think I will also skip the anecdotes
about healing, finding oneself, and perseverance during the darkest of nights.
I’m back into the swing of things, and really, REALLY hope to use my various
social media (I finally dabbled into Instagram!) outlets to hold myself accountable
for making sure I have some form of craftiness in my every day. I figured a
resurrection of the old blog was in order.
I know you’ve seen it
before-specifically from me- but I feel it’s going to be different this time. I
pinkie promise not to leave you stranded and alone. ;) And to accompany this
awakening, I wanted to take advantage of your full attention while I put myself
to the test. Tomorrow is September 1st, which means it is time to
get myself ready for #30Lists!
What is this “30 list” thing, you
ask? Well, it’s technically a creative journaling challenge I stumbled upon
last year. Of course, true to my character, I didn’t complete my challenge
until this year, but I find it’s easier on the self if I embrace the flaw than
it is to fight one's true nature.
It is formally called 30 Days of
Lists. The challenge is the brainchild of Kam of Campfire Chic and Amy of Lemon and Raspberry. You can find all the awesome details on their website, http://30daysoflists.com/. The idea is to
add that little bit of “me time” and creativity into your everyday. They host
the challenge twice a year. I have thus far only partaken in the
September 2014 challenge.
Because it took so long to complete
my journaling from last year, I really procrastinated joining up this year, but
when I made the decision, I did so in a flurry of enthusiasm. I registered,
checked out the private blog, visited all the Ambassador online stores and blogs,
and started following on Facebook and Instagram. Okay, I may have been a little
excessive…
But it paid off!
I won one of the giveaways from
Sponsor Vanessa of Vanessa's Fancy. It was quite an opportunistic
happenstance, as I was just pondering how I was going to proceed with the
challenge. I was enthusiastic, but unorganized, and wasn’t fully solid on the format my lists were going to take. I was considering pocket pages (again), or a little
notebook that I had on hand from Target, or even cards tucked into my planner.
Then *MAGIC* I won the darling book from Vanessa. So thankful!
This time around, it is my goal to
complete the lists the days for which they correlate; however, I don’t anticipate
life will be as accommodating. As such, I may keep track in Evernote, as I did
last year, or fill in my planner with notes. I want to tackle the lists as
they are released [they did hand out the advance titles], but want to keep up so that I catch the “moment” and not randomly fill them in months later.
I encourage you all to play along.
It’s really harmless fun for pennies. And you will have great fun!
I'm slowly making progress...
Wish me luck!
~Jeanna~
